We then begin a scenic 2-hour drive (approx. 50 km) from Jammu Airport toward Katra, also known as Katra Vaishno Devi333. Katra, nestled in the foothills of the Trikuta mountains, is the base camp for the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi4. In the evening, arrive and check into your hotel5. Today is dedicated to the Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan Darshan, one of India's most popular pilgrimages, situated at an altitude of approximately 5200 feet10. The main yatra involves a trek of nearly 14 km from the base camp at Ban Ganga in Katra11. Rengha Holidays and Tourism understands your comfort is key. Alternate ways to reach the shrine, not included in the package but available for guests to book, are Helicopter service or battery-operated cars from the midway point, and Ponies/Palkis12121212.
